What Are Same-Day Braces? Here’s How Port Orange Parents Are Saving Time By Starting Sooner

We know – you have a busy life, and visiting the orthodontist can slide down the priority list.

You’ve probably already heard there are plenty of advantages to starting orthodontic treatment early. Kids who get started earlier than their peers tend to see results sooner. They may be done with their braces in just a matter of months, and they don’t always require a retainer.

The sooner you get started, the better.

Time is a factor for adults, too. Even if you’re all grown up and you’ve never had any orthodontic care in the past, you can still improve your overall dental health with braces. Clear aligners are a great choice for adults and fashion-conscious teens who are mature enough to use them.

But life can be hectic, and there’s a lot of competing demands. Even if you have a Port Orange orthodontist just down the road, we know it can be hard to make time. That’s especially true if the kids need to take off from school to make that appointment.

Many patients told Dr. Beauchamp that they would have gotten started with braces much sooner if the process was a little more convenient. Our team heard the call, and we’ve answered it by being the first Port Orange orthodontist to introduce same-day braces.

Yes, you really can get Port Orange braces faster and easier than ever before!

How Same-Day Braces Help You Save Time and Money at Your Port Orange Orthodontist

Dr. Beauchamp has worked hard to make orthodontic care fun and convenient for everyone. Our modern braces have a smaller form factor and kid-friendly colored bands, so patients of all ages will have something to look forward to. But for lots of adults, time is the most crucial factor.

With same-day braces, you can get started on braces the very same day as your new patient appointment. Our friendly team will walk you through the new patient processes in a quick and easy way. Then, it’s on to the new braces treatment for you or your child.

Most orthodontists require you to schedule a follow-up appointment for new braces. In fact, the new patient appointment doesn’t really get much done. At Beauchamp Orthodontics, we know that your time is valuable. You save both time and money by not having to come back days or weeks later.

Just because the process is accelerated, that does not mean you compromise on quality.

Our family-friendly office is a comfortable and safe space for patients of all ages. We know that both kids and adults can feel anxious when visiting the orthodontist. Our goal is to put you at ease – and provide quality orthodontic care in Port Orange that you can really smile about.

Port Orange Braces Options with Dr. Beauchamp

Depending on the age of the patient and any current orthodontic conditions, you will have several different options.

1. Metal Braces

The most common orthodontic treatment is metal braces. Unlike conventional metal braces, ours are more compact. That makes them easier for you to care for. Initial treatment is also faster. Metal braces are a good all-around option that will apply to almost any orthodontic patient.

Like all braces, metal braces can correct misalignment and gaps of the teeth. Metal braces have the best track record for the most severe misalignments. Depending on the patient’s age and condition, you may use them anywhere from a few months to more than a year.

After your metal braces are in place, you will have periodic follow-up appointments with Dr. Beauchamp to ensure everything is working the way it should. There may be a brief adjustment period when braces are brand new, but any discomfort should fade completely within a few days.

If discomfort persists for more than a week or you experience sharp pain, irritation, or bleeding, call your Port Orange orthodontist team right away. The majority of patients experience no complications with braces, but small adjustments may be necessary within the first month.

Once everything is settled, braces are easy to care for. Simply continue to brush and floss as you normally do. At your follow-ups, additional x-ray images may be taken to verify that your teeth are moving into a healthy alignment, known as the treated position.

Some patients will require a retainer after they are done with their braces. The purpose of the retainer is to ensure that the teeth remain in the treated position. Not all patients will need a retainer. In fact, the younger a patient is, the less likely they are to require one.

In the odd event that you’re in an accident and your braces are damaged, they can usually be fixed right up by your orthodontist. In fact, there are some situations where you can even fix your braces yourself. Call Dr. Beauchamp for advice before you decide.

2. Clear Aligners

Clear aligners have become very popular over the last few years!

There are two major brands of clear aligner, but they make the same basic promise: All the therapeutic power of conventional metal braces in a sleek and subtle clear form. Clear aligners can be so discreet, only your orthodontist may know you have them. They are made of high-quality plastic.

Clear aligners are available for adults and older teens. In addition to their appearance, they have a few other advantages that can make them the right selection for you.

Unlike braces, aligners can be removed at any time. You might decide to take them out to eat, for cleaning, or before playing sports. To see results, you’ll still need to wear them the majority of the time – more than 20 hours a day in most cases. But the option to remove them makes them much easier to use.

Aligners are made precisely to fit your mouth. During the manufacturing process, images of your mouth’s interior are used to produce an aligner with a perfect fit. As a result, it is usually very easy to adjust to clear aligners. They should be very comfortable after a day or two.

It’s important to be careful with your clear aligners, especially when you take them out. Unlike braces, they cannot be repaired. A whole new set of aligners will need to be made as a replacement. Luckily, all the images used to produce your original aligners remain on file so they can be used again.

No matter which option turns out to be right for you, we’re there for you every step of the way.
